Born in 1969 in St. Pölten, Lower Austria.
He had 6 years of classical piano lessons, but after a few years he discovered that the Boogie Woogie rhythms of Axel Zwingerberger fascinated him more than Mozart or Beethoven.

Still he enrolled into a music university for another year studying classical music. However, he slowly started to get into Blues & Boogie Woogie music more &more. Besides the Boogie Woogie pioneers like Albert Ammons or Pete Johnson, he also liked the band sound of the Mojo Blues Band. His vision was to be a member of such a band playing Chicago Blues & Rhythm & Blues. Still it was very hard to find professional Blues & Boogie Woogie musicians in Lower Austria.

However, in 1999 he finally joined the 50's revival Rock n' Roll band, "De Icco & the Jailgang". He also played live concerts with the "Paul Zagler Band", "Manfred Deix & the Good Vibration Band", etc. In 1996 until 2001, he was the piano player & stage partner for the Cabaret star, Alexander Bisenz. When Silvio Berger joined the Mojo Blues Band by the end of 2002, Silvio asked Charlie to join him playing in the Mojo Blues Band & fulfill his vision.
